What is the quality of the steel used in Japanese knives? Will it rust?

Made from high-carbon 9Cr18Col0v premium steel, our Japanese knives are hand-forged and have a unique anti-rust coating on the surface, so they usually won't rust. However, to ensure they stay in top condition, we recommend cleaning and drying your blades immediately. Store in a dry, ventilated place after use. If rust does occur, it is usually just superficial and will not damage the knife. This is very easy to fix, just rinse with a towel or use a whetstone to remove surface rust. We hope this is helpful and we welcome you to choose FAMCÜTE; we are here to serve you!
